This project involved replacing an old cedar roof that had seen better days. With several sections leaking and skylights needing replacement, it was a significant and urgent task. To add to the complexity, the work had to begin at the end of winter, making the project even more challenging. Our crew was required to carefully strip the old cedar roof and quickly waterproof the deck with a high-temperature ice and water membrane.

1. Removal and Disposal of Old Cedar Roof:
   • Careful removal and disposal of the deteriorating cedar shingles to prevent any damage to the underlying structure.
2. Preparing Roof Deck for Waterproofing:
   • Thorough cleaning and preparation of the roof deck to ensure the proper adhesion of the waterproofing materials.

   • Application of a high-temperature ice and water membrane to provide a strong barrier against moisture and leaks.
4. Double Strapping Installation:
   • Installation of double strapping to create a solid base for the new roofing system and to improve ventilation.

   • Installation of a durable and aesthetically pleasing metal roofing tile system to ensure long-term protection and a modern look.
6. Skylight Replacement with Custom-Built Frame:
   • Replacement of old skylights with new, energy-efficient Velux skylights. Custom-built frames were crafted to ensure a perfect fit and secure installation.
7. Snow Retention System Installation:
   • Installation of a snow retention system to prevent snow from sliding off the roof, enhancing safety during winter months.
8. Leaf Guard Installation:
   • Addition of leaf guards to the gutters to prevent clogging and maintain proper water drainage.
